Dyeing process
Refinement (Norinuki) → Habadashi (Tentering) → Dyeing → Washing with steaming water → Smooth clothes with steam (Yunoshi)
Process time : approx. 2 weeks
Hikizome
Dyeing with rubbing and stroking the cloth with a special brush.
Rouketsuzome
Create pattern by wax to make each surface of the cloth remain original color.
Katazome
Katazome is dyeing prosess by using a pattern paper / board or by imprint directly with a spatula. That enables compricated design.
Tegaki (Hand Drawing)
Drawing by brushes.That requires long time experience to handle many types of clothes.
Tesaishoku (Hand Dyeing)
Dyeing clothes by rubbing with films and small brushs.
